I am a Mexican-American poet who believes that love and it’s power to shape our reality–from the way we measure time to the memories we hold on to–is one of the most beautiful things we have in this life. My poetry often centers on romantic love, but I also write about identity, immigration, and the world as I see it and most of all, feel it. I admire the greats like Pablo Neruda and Octavio Paz and also greats-in-the-making like Erika L. Sánchez and José Olivarez
In the past, I have built and taught poetry programs for the incarcerated, which I still consider to be one of the most important and defining moments of my life. I know I will return to teaching on the inside at some point in the future, but I don’t know exactly when. You can learn more about my work in prisons here.
Right now, I am looking for the best ways to share my work with the broadest audience possible. Thank you for visiting, and reading and I hope you will share my work with those you love.
